Sports
Column
Luke
Gilliam / Waco Tribune-Herald
There's
a wry wit working throughout Luke Gilliam's sports columns for the
Tribune-Herald.
"It's just from
my sense of humor, and there are a lot of my life experiences in
there," Gilliam said.

"There should
be humor in sports, because that's where people go to get away from
it all and from the pressures of life."
Gilliam worked
for two summers for the Tribune-Herald before he was hired full-time
in July 1999.
He writes a
column "when I have the time," he said. "I've handled our high school
coverage, and that takes up most of my time."
A China Spring,
Texas, native, Gilliam earned a communications degree from Howard
Payne University. He also played first base for Howard Payne's baseball
team, and covered sports for the Brownwood Bulletin.
